Dehesa is a small community that is located along the Sweetwater River and Dehesa Valley between Harbison Canyon, Crest, Alpine, and Granite Hills in El Cajon. It is neighbored by the larger communities of Rancho San Diego, Jamacha-Lomita, and National City. Dehesa is a very rural area with most residents working in El Cajon or San Diego.
